What can a personal trainer do for you?
How many of us want to get a bit fitter, maybe drop a bit of weight, make new year's resolutions to eat better and get more active - but never seem to get beyond the first step?
Or maybe you ARE active, you may have been going to a gym or participating in sport regularly - yet you don't seem to be making a lot of progress.
Most of us do have good intentions most of the time, but it's very easy to let 'real life' get in the way. It's raining outside, so you'll take the car to work instead of riding, or you'll go for a walk or run tomorrow. Or next week.
Having a personal trainer helps in lots of different ways:
- you have an appointment with your personal trainer, so it's more difficult to just not turn up...in fact there's a financial penalty if you do skip out!
- you have a personal trainer to push you to your limit - making sure you get those results you are aiming for
- you don't have to repeat the same workout over and over again - your personal trainer will shake it up so each session is different ensuring you don't get bored
- your personal trainer will help you to set goals regularly, and will do regular physical and fitness assessments to show you exactly where and how you have improved
- if you're watching your weight, your personal trainer is more than happy to throw you on the scales each session, check your food diary and make suggestions on ways you can improve your choices. We can even take you on a supermarket tour to point out some of the traps (and aisles) to avoid
- your personal trainer will monitor you while you work out to make sure your form is correct, keeping you safer and greatly reducing the risk of injury
- your personal trainer will help you to find ways of incorporating a little extra activity into your day, every day
- your personal trainer can create training plans for you if you have a longer term goal (eg compete in the Spring Challenge, cycle around Lake Tekapo, walk the City to Surf, or whatever your personal goal may be).
we are registered personal trainers for the Catch Fitness 20 Week Body & Lifestyle Competition. Getting involved in the Comp can really help keep you stay motivated and on top of your health and fitness plan.
Sounds good, but how much does it cost?
One on one sessions at the studio cost $60 for 45 mins, or $45 for 30 minutes. Mobile PT sessions are available (at your home, work or a local park) however an additional fee will apply depending on your location. I can train small groups of two or three people at once - contact me for prices.
What do I do next?
